So, here are the lists I came up with yesterday: songs, movies, TV shows, and the books I read. I guess it really shows how eclectic my taste is when it comes to culture.
Songs I listened to the most
Should I make a Mixtape titled 2010, I would definitely put these songs on it. (Not in this particular order. They may not be new, but I discovered them in 2010.)
- Utazásaim by Szabó Balázs Band
- Most Múlik Pontosan by Csík Zenekar
- Folsom Prison Blues by Petruska András (orginally by Johnny Cash)
- Blowing in the Wind by Petruska András (originally by Bob Dylan)
- The Dog Day Are Over by Florence and the Machine
- Bird Song by Florence and the Machine
- My Boy Builds Coffins by Florence and the Machine (this version and not the album one)
- 21 Guns by The Cast of American Idiot
- Holiday by Green Day
- Forget You by Gwyneth Paltrow with Glee Cast
- Poker Face by Lea Michelle/Glee Cast
- Don't Stop Believing by Glee Cast
- Somebody to Love by Glee Cast
- Proud Mary by Glee Cast
- And I am Telling You by Glee Cast
- The Heart of Every Girl by Elton John
- Rocket Man by Elton John
- Who Says by John Mayer
- Gives You Hell by All American Rejects
- Creep by Scala & Kolacny Brothers (The Social Network OST)
- I Need a Dollar by Aloe Blacc
- Psychic City by Yacht (the How to Make it in America soundtrack version)
- Be Italian by Fergie (9 OST)
- Fight For This Love by Cheryl Cole (Guilty Pleasure Song of the Year)
- 3 Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot
- Solo by Király Viktor
- Let it Snow by Diana Krall (All time favorite winter song.)
I ADORE the complete Florence and the Machine album, I must have listened to it at least 500 a thousand times in the past 16 months, and I still cannot get enough of it. If you haven't heard it, you really really should put their record on ASAP.
This year I completely fell in love with the music of Petruska Andris and Szabó Balázs. You should check them out here and here, or if you can, go to a concert of theirs. Belive me, you won't regret it.
Movies I liked the most
I saw only a fery few movies, and I can think of only 3 that I will rewatch/ would buy on dvd:
- An Education (I fell in love with Carey Mulligan)
- The Social Network
- Easy A
I stayed away from big blockbusters like Alice, Robin Hood, Inception, and Avatar... But I did rewatch The Shop Around the Corner, You've Got Mail, and Mona Lisa Smile quite a few times...
TV shows that kept me on my toes:
- Californication
- Friday Night Lights
- Parenthood
- How to Make it in America
- 9020 (my guilty pleasure series... it's rubbish, but I like it)
(I will write about the books later.)
So, tell me, if I left anything out.:)
