top ten tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created and hosted by the broke and the bookish. published every tuesday, the post presents a list of a certain literary theme. being obsessed with both making lists and all things bookish, i have decided to participate. this week's topic focuses on books that we want santa to bring us this year.

1. john green limited edition boxed set by john green: this beautiful boxed set includes john green's most successful novels: looking for alaska, the abundance of katherines, paper towns, the fault in our stars. although i have already read the first two, i would love to reread them, not to mention the latter two, which i haven't had the luck to thumb through yet.
2. let it snow by john green and maureen johnson: this the season to be jolly, this the book of the jolly season. i would love to read it.
3. friday night lights companion: love, loss, and football in dillon, texas by leah wilson and will leitch: being a huge fan of the superp tv show friday night lights, i have been pining over this volume of essays ever since it came out over a year ago.
4. peaches for monsieur le curé (usa title: peaches for father francis) by joanne harris: joanne harris is the author whose books i always buy, every single one of them, regardless of their theme or reviews. i loved chocolat, but its sequel was a bit of a disappointment. this is the third addition to the series.
5. mastering the art of french cooking by julia child, louisett bertholle, and simone beck: i adore julia child, i've been longing for this enormous classic ever since i saw the film julie & julia.
6. the polaroid book: selections from the polaroid collections of photography by steve crist (editor): it's the bible of all things polaroid, including essays on its beginnings and history, and more than 400 works from the polaroid collection.
7. elfújta a nő (original title: tatt av kvinnen) by erlend loe: i'm a fan of the critically acclaimed norwegian author erlend loe's novels. i loved doppler (but was disappointed in its sequel) and naiv.super. i would love to read more of his books.
8. paris, my sweet: a year in the city of light by amy thomas: according to goodreads, its "part love letter to new york, part love letter to paris, and total devotion to all things sweet."
9. the paris wife by paula mclain: it's the story of the love affair between twe remarkable people, ernest hemingway and his wife hadley in the hard-drinking and fast-living age of jazz in paris.
10. knit the season by kate jacobs: i enjoyed the friday night knitting club quite much, and would love to read the sequels, especially this one, the festive edition.

Let it Snow is AMAZING! It's been a couple of years since I read it, so I should really take it off the shelf this year.

ReplyDeleteI was going to say that a boxed set is cheating . . . but since it's a limited edition boxed set, I guess that makes it all right. ;-) I want to start reading John Green, too, because I've heard so many good things about his novels; but I just don't have the time these days.
