last week in pics

as i mentioned before last week came and was gone already before i could realize it or catch my breath. i had to work three days only, as i had thursday and friday off, and i enjoyed the long weekend immensely, and filled it with some fun activities.
some notable events:

• i started the week with baking banana bread - a post is on its way - which turned out great, even my grandma asked for the recipe.
• on wednesday from google play's app store i downloaded camera zoom fx, a superb photo app  that i have been obsessed with ever since. i just can't stop fiddling and playing around with all the many silly photos i have taken so far. i especially love the film strip and the polaroid frames, the different white balance effects, and the bokeh filters. brace yourself, hundreds of over-filtered silly camera photos are on the way.
• on thursday i finally bought a pair of beautiful, colorful welly boots. god only knows for how long i have been pining over a decent (and fun) pair of welly boots. i finally got them and love them. they are super comfy and super rad. it's awfully hard to resist jumping in and out of paddles when wearing them.
• what's even greater than buying a pair of pretty rain boots? having loads of rain the following day. miracle of all miracles, on friday the weather was positively yucky with over the top humidity and big fat raindrops filling the air and the potholes on the ground. with a big smile on my face i slipped on my new boots, then and i was off visiting my grandma.
• saturday is (almost always) market day, so my mom and i hit the town's largest market called zsarnai where all sorts of goodies are sold, starting with basic grocieries, imported food and beveragies, clothes, shoes, electronic gadgets, beauty products, and god only knows what other knick-knacks and bric-a-bracks. we bought quite a few things, eg. a pretty winter coat for my mom, some sweet and salty snacks, mountain dew for my brother, and i got myself a bag of the yummiest, flakiest polish cream fudge. i could stuff my face with an entire bag in one sitting, but i am trying to have some self control and not eat more than three or four at a time.
• i spent sunday at home, editing the photos from the previous weekend and trying to catch up with overdue blog posts. then in the afternoon, i dug up our christmas decoration,  and installed some twinkle lights around my bookshelf. i also reorganized the books, and put a couple of polaroid cameras out on display. once i turned the lights on, i was immediately in love with both the decoration and my super pretty bookshelf. it completely changes the entire atmosphere of the room, it's all very festive and cosy. i can hardly wait to get into full christmas mood, buy (and make) more decoration and a super duper tree, decorate the entire flat, not to mention baking gingerbread and making eggnog. naturally, i couldn't stop myself from taking at least five dozen photos of the spot, all with different setting and lighting. i hope you enjoy the photos as much as i did when taking them.
